Astrology and Horoscopes

Astrology and horoscopes are things that people have a lot of interest in. Astrology and horoscopes have been around a long time. All over the world astrology and horoscopes have a long history. People in India were using astrology and horoscopes over 5000 years ago and in Chine, they have been using astrology and horoscopes for over 4000 years. Of course, astrology and horoscopes in the Eurocentric Western world are much younger than that, but that is just because the Eurocentric Western world is much younger than some of the Eastern cultures. From the beginning of time, man has been fascinated with the heavens. The stars, the planets, the sun, the moon, and the comets blazing across the sky were all observed and noted with interest by man.

With man's fascination with the heavens, it is only natural that astrology and horoscopes would be developed. Over time, as man observed and recorded regular movement of the sun and the moon and the planets through the various groupings of starts, formalized astrology and horoscopes were developed. It became people's belief that the position of the planets in the sky effected man's personality and behavior. Astrology and horoscopes have been around for a long long time now, but there is no hard evidence for this belief except that we know that the phases of the moon have a monumental effect on the earth's bodies of water and the tides. There is anecdotal evidence that has been gathered over thousands of years suggesting that there is a basis in fact for astrology and horoscopes.

There is just no basis in fact for junk astrology and horoscopes like the stuff predicted by mass media. People enjoy astrology and horoscopes and as long as they know it is just for fun, there is no reason not to read and enjoy astrology and horoscopes that are of the very general type that appear in publications daily and monthly. But the type of astrology and horoscopes that the mass media provides are not the true astrology and horoscopes that have been developed so painstakingly over the millennia. Mass media provides astrology and horoscopes based only on a person's month of birth.

This approach to astrology and horoscopes is called sun-sign and is only a very small part of the whole astrology and horoscopes picture. It is a shame that people's perception of astrology and horoscopes have gotten a bad rap by a lot of people because of this where if people were exposed to the deep understanding of man and his behavior that has been derived through Chinese, Indian and other ancient approaches to astrology and horoscopes, they would have a very different opinion of astrology and horoscopes that the one they do. Astrology and horoscopes can be very enlightening and astrology and horoscopes can produce some very insightful looks into man's character and behavior.
