History of Horoscopes
The history of horoscopes goes way, way back. In India and China, they were doing their versions of astrology and horoscopes as far back as 3000 B.C. The  history of horoscopes is quite fascinating. To see the changes that astrology went through throughout the  history of horoscopes is very interesting. The  history of horoscopes tells us many things about people, societies, cultures and history.
The  history of horoscopes show us that in India, as far back as 3000 B.C. they were practicing a form of astrology that was part of Vedic teachings. In China, at that same time, they were developing Chinese astrology. The  history of horoscopes tells us that the Chinese spent thousands of years developing an extensive and very well researched form of astrology. In the  history of horoscopes this system is one that really stands out.
The  history of horoscopes also tells us that our form of Western astrology is derived from the system of astrology that started with the ancient Babylonians. The  history of horoscopes traces astrology from the Babylonians to the Greeks. From the Greeks to the Romans and then eventually throughout Europe. Throughout the  history of horoscopes, astrology has had its detractors and skeptics. Many saw it a s pseudo science. The  history of horoscopes is full of movements to ban it or reform it.
The modern  history of horoscopes begins in the 1800's when the average person began to get interested in horoscopes. The newspapers of that time saw a huge potential in providing horoscopes to the masses, but doing actual horoscopes in the newspapers for every reader was impossible so the  history of horoscopes took another turn and publishers simplified horoscopes to make them work in the newspaper. Publishers realized that providing horoscopes that were based only on birth months the readers were born in, in other words, the sun sign only, made it publishable because it was general enough to appeal and apply somewhat to everyone.
This simplification would be seen as a bad thing in the  history of horoscopes because horoscopes became too vague and general in nature and really not valid at all. To this point, all through the  history of horoscopes, horoscopes were prepared for the individual using as much information as possible. From here on in, in the  history of horoscopes, horoscopes would be viewed as entertainment and occasionally valid, at best.
The  history of horoscopes is a long and twisting path. The  history of horoscopes shows them being both, held up on the same level as other sciences of their day and then the  history of horoscopes shows them being demonized.
