However, if you have a consumer product, then you need to find a more ingenious way of allowing them to test the product. Return policies also help attracting the audience. Although, better be prepared to take some stuff back for sure.

A Fact Checking Audience - Here you need to be very careful because this is the tougher kind of consumer group. They are the ones who are very careful with every detail, will double check all your policies and thoroughly go through each and every detail of your product.

The Post Purchase Repentant Group - This is the final set of people. You should be ready to hear a few (read many) grudges from them because they buy at leisure and repent later. Dont fret but understand that you have more control over these guys than you think. Just be your reassuring best  and you will definitely have them in the bag.

With every set of audience, you should have different target areas.  For the Self directed audience, make sure that you have a good shopping cart. The testing audience will simply love a trial version of the software for free download. The Fact checker would like a tele-seminar or some written information like articles. Last but not the least, the repentant types simply need their wills to get reinforced. Give them step by step tutorials and they will lap it all up eagerly and will rely on your information system loyally. Just be focused and you wont face any problems at all.
