Why are people crazy about Christian web hosting services? Id always wondered this right from the time I designed my own website. This was a decade ago. I knew from the beginning that most of these services are not actually Christian; they extract more dollars from you; and also lack high-tech support.

However, observing the present trend of increasing preference for Christian web hosting, I realized I needed to rethink over the negativities that Id harbored about these services for so many years. Perhaps they werent as bad as I always thought them to be. Moreover, nobody minds spending a few extra dollars in exchange of getting great service, right?

After doing some research, I found that most of the Christian web hosting services, utilize reseller hosting, i.e., they buy servers from other big web hosts and tag their name to it. This explains their higher charge. After purchasing, they need to break even and make a profit too. Besides, due to lack of big servers, they are unable to provide higher bandwidth as well as storage space to their customers. Again not their fault, though.

In other words, Christian web hosting are not actually service providers. They act as an intermediary between the large web hosts and you. So, if something goes wrong with your website, they cant be of much help.

Do I mean to say that you should avoid going for Christian web hosting services? Absolutely not! Remember, I used the word most, not all web hosts. So, there ARE web hosting services that are Christian and have their own servers.

Things To Do Before Buying Services Of Christian Web Hosts

Please, do three things before finalizing the deal with Christian web hosting services:

Talk to the company head about their beliefs in Christianity and their opinion about God in relation to their business vision. (If theyre really Christian, they wont mind answering your questions)
Research to find out whether they truly possess their own servers. Also find out where their Christian Web Hosting servers are located.
Read with caution their Terms of Service to dig out any hidden costs for features that should actually be free.
