It is not a good idea to venture out on the slopes till you are ready. You need to learn how to steer and stop before you can even think about going on the slopes. Check the color codes and be sure that you are on the right slope before you go down on it. Green is for learners, while blue, red and black are for those who are proficient skiers. If you find that the slope is harder than you had imagined, then you can remove your skis and walk down the slope. You should not worry about what the others who are busy enjoying winter sports will say. You definitely should not compromise on safety due to the fact that you will probably feel embarrassed to walk down the slope. The same applies if you are fatigued and not physically fit to continue skiing.
