Computer Games

Computer games. I bet some parents wish they had never been invented. I bet some kids can't imagine living without them. Computer games have been praised as educational. Computer games have been denigrated as destructive to young minds. Computer games have been written about. Computer games have been talked about. Computer games have been debated at the highest levels of government. And computer games are discussed everyday by kids at school and at home. Like it or not, computer games are part of the culture now and an integral part of growing up.

Most kids have played computer games. boys, more than girls seem drawn to computer games. This is not to say that girls don't play computer games. They do play computer games. Just not as obsessively usually as boys. Some kids spend all the time they can playing computer games. The computer games console manufacturers have made it easy for kids to be always playing computer games. There are pocket sized players for computer games that a kid can take anywhere.

So now they can play computer games in the car and on the bus. They can play computer games in the classroom. They can play computer games at recess. They can play computer games wherever they go. Then they get home and turn on the computer games that are hooked up to the TV. These computer games are larger and more powerful than the hand held computer games so computer games played are more sophisticated. It seems as though kids can spend unlimited hours playing computer games. They never seem to tire of playing computer games. If they get tired of one particular computer game, then they just switch to another. There are so many types of computer games on the market that there really is quite a variety of computer games to play.

Some of the most popular computer games are the first person, shorter games. In these computer games, you are walking through a landscape and trying not to be shot by the enemy. You have a choice of weapons you can use to shoot the enemy with and as the computer game progresses, you get more and more sophisticated weapons. You can play these computer games against the computer or against one or more other players. You can even play these computer games online so you can play against people from all over the world. This way, you can meet interesting people from far away places and kill them. Aren't computer games dandy?
