How Many Churches are Now Using Technology
Are you the member of a church congregation or would you be interested in attending Sunday services in the near future?  If you are or if you would, there is a good chance that you may be interested in doing a little bit of research. Those who attend church services or are full fledged members of church congregations are often fascinated with the history of their church, as well as the new direction that their church is headed in. If you are one of those individuals, you may want to place a focus on technology and how it is being used by your congregation.
When it comes to technology, you will find that different churches are using technology in their own ways, some not even at all.  For starters, you may want to examine your church congregation.  With that in mind, it may also be a good idea to examine other religions, as well as other local churches to see how they are using technology to their advantage. This may not only be educational for you, but exciting as well, as it can often be interesting to see how similar church congregations appear when compared side by side.
When examining your religion and your churchs use of technology, you will likely find a number of different uses.  For starters, in the past many church congregations relied on choirs for entertainment during Sunday services.  While these choirs do still exist day, many church congregations are beginning to take a more modern and more advanced look at music and religion.  It is common to find churches, possibly right in your own community, whom have religious bands, possibly even rock or pop banks. These bands are using modern technology, like guitars, drums, and so forth to spread the message of faith in the form of music.  A modern spin on religious teaching is a great way to target the younger generation of church goers as well.
Many church congregations are also using technology to their advantage by way of the internet.  In an internet driven world, many church congregations now have online websites.  If you are a church leader or a church member and your church does not have an online website, one should be developed right away.  All church related online websites should have news and events sections. This is a section where you can keep your congregation and the rest of your community updated on upcoming events.  You may also want to have a newsletter signup form. This will enable you to get email addresses, which can be used to mail newsletters to those who are showing signs of interest.
In keeping with using the internet, you will also find that many churches are now starting to make their church services available on their online websites.  Often times these will just be video recordings, but more and more churches are starting to post live uploads of their church services or sermons on their online websites. Although there are still many church leaders who are unsure about this approach, it is one that is increasing in popularity due to hectic schedules, as well as unexpected emergencies.
The above mentioned ways are just a few of the many way that your church congregation and others in your community may be making full use out of the technology that is available today.
