Leather Shoes

Leather shoes have been worn by humans for unnumbered centuries.  Probably the first wrapping for the feet of prehistoric man were the skins of animals...the source for leather. There is no doubt that leather shoes have served men and women well for many centuries.
The simplest leather shoes today may be strap sandals...or perhaps a more primitive form of shoe such as moccasins.  Moccasins of course can be very fine, of supple cured leather, undecorated or ornamented, as worn by early Native Americans and still worn today.

Leather shoes can be soft and supple, or hard and sturdy.  Leather shoes may be  designed for tough working conditions, or for ballroom dancing. Leather shoes may be highly fashionable and very expensive, or leather shoes can be simple and utilitarian and relatively low cost.Leather shoes are worn by men and boys.  Leather shoes are worn by women and girls, and leather shoes are worn by very small children...even infants.

Fine fashion designers with minor exceptions create designs for leather shoes, both men's and women's. Exceptions are fabric sports shoes, or silk and satin dress shoes for women.
Even when the tops of shoes may be of elegant fabric, the shoes for men and women are often of leather.  Leather shoes designed for serious dancing may have soft leather soles which can be brushed for texture which counteracts slipping.

Good leather shoes are worthy of special care, as they are often very expensive.  For those who cannot afford expensive leather shoes, care may be even more important, as their leather shoes may have to last a good time. There are numerous products available to care for leather shoes, to keep the leather supple or with a smooth finish.  Leather shoes of suede have special products designed for this type of leather.

Many fine leather shoes designed and created by well known fashion designers, particularly fine leather shoes from Italy, are very expensive, and have slightly more extreme design than the day-to-day leather shoes produced for ordinary working, sports and even dress occasions. Very few, however, can afford a leather shoe wardrobe exclusively created by the world's famous fashion designers.  But it is quite possible for men, women and children to wear handsome, well made leather shoes designed to meet every aspect of their lifestyle and budgets. These leather shoes range from sandals, to oxfords, to pumps to dance shoes and the special shoes.designed for orthopedic purposes. Good leather shoes are available in shoe stores, department stores and discount stores.
