How to find after school activities
How to find after school activities
Begin making enquiries. The more information you have the better.
For a start talk to the school authorities. Check with them are they offering any
after school activities. Make a list of all the classes that are
offered in your school. Should the school does not offer any
extracurricular activities for the child, check out your neighbors. Gather as much
information about any after school programs and quality of the courses
taught and the timings etc. Best to also find out more of the community
resources. These may consist of places of worship, community centers,
Museums, libraries, the YMCA, The Boys and Girls Club etc.
After finising gathering all the information, compare the various
options available with your child. Check out what are his interests. The best way to do
this is to directly ask your child. However when they are too small, sometime their feedback may not be accurate. Should this be the case, monitor the child development regularly. When the child exhibit excessive resistance to certain activity, it is time to look for
other alternative. Your family's schedule must be taken into consideration during the planning of any extracurricular activities. Shoulf you find it difficult to chauffeur your
child, alternatively you can employ tutors at home. If you have the extra time available, you may consider conducting some of activity yourself at home.
