Games of chance are many and varied. Games of chance include games for very little children through the aged. Games of chance can involve learning or games of chance can be played for money. Games of chance can also just be played for fun. People of all ages have enjoyed playing games of chance from times in early history. Sometimes, these games of chance were played at special occasions or sometimes just any old time at all. Games of chance were found in saloons in the old west in the form or poker games.

Card games are games of chance because it is chance that dictates what cards you are dealt. Dice games are another example of games of chance. The way the dice fall seems fairly random and therefore, dice games are games of chance. And there are dice with dots, numbers and letters and any game using any of these dice will be games of chance. Board games that use dice as means of deciding how a player advances around the board is a game of chance. There are kids' versions of these board games of chance like chutes and ladders and candy land. Then for older children and adults, there is bingo, parcheesi, yatzee and even scrabble although with the latter three, there is also an amount of strategy and skill involved as well.

Other games of chance are games that have a spinning wheel besides the children's games already mentioned are boardwalk arcade games and carnival games with the big spinning wheels where you put you coins of chips on a color, number or word and watch the spinning wheel go round and round, hoping beyond all hopes that the pointer will rest on the right section of the spinning wheel and you will win your game of chance. These spinning wheel games of chance were taken to much broader versions in the very popular TV games of chance that enjoyed decades of success.

The first of these TV games of chance is The price is right. The big wheel was the last stage of the game where three contestants would spin for the highest amount without going over 1000 and get a favorable position in the showcase showdown. Another game of chance that is still being played and broadcast all over the world is Wheel of Fortune. This game has evolved over the years, but the spinning wheel has always been a part of it. So even though you might be the best word puzzle solver in the world, it is the game of chance that determines you chance to guess the puzzle.

Almost any game is a game of chance. Dice games, dominoes, cards, etc. Any game that involves winning or losing as a result of a chance roll, draw or deal is part of the category of games of chance.
