Management Opportunities for Women in Business
The working women of the mid twentieth century would be surprised at the management opportunities for women in business today.  There are today a large number of women who are officers and CEOs of major corporations...almost unheard of a few decades ago, indicating much increased management opportunities for women in business.
Management opportunities for women in business are still far less than those existing for men, so women must be well prepared and highly competitive to realize the management opportunities that exist for women in business today..In the past sometimes a woman could rise from a fairly low position in the corporate world (possibly secretary to an important executive) and by dint of hard work, quick learning and being opportunistic, rise to a position of management.  This route to management opportunities for women in business is rare today.
The management of large companies is so sophisticated and demanding that to realize the management opportunities for women in business, a woman must be well educated, flexible, constantly learning, and aggressive, albeit the latter may need to be carefully controlled. Management opportunities for women in business can hold such rewards as becoming Chairman and CEO of Pepsico to Co-President of Morgan Stanley.
A few years ago there simply weren't management opportunities for women in business beyond that of office manager. As late as the 1970's there were many companies in which women held no higher position than that of executive secretary or bookkeeper. In the same decade, for example, there were so few management opportunities for women that there were no women in middle management in dozens of major coporations in the US, or even in many smaller companies where management opportunities for women in business were barely visible.
As more and more women have moved into the workplace....partly from ambition, partly from necessity, They have through education, hard work and networking, risen to challenge their male counterparts. As they prove themselves, more management opportunities for women in business appear.
