Prepare Your Camping Checklist Before You Leave

There are very few other vacationing options that can rejuvenate your senses like the way camping does. There is something strangely relaxing about staying in a tent with bare minimum goods to live off and no technical gizmos in sight, cooking over the camp-fire, and trekking in the wild woods or hiking in rugged terrains. Living in wilderness has a kind of therapeutic effect on mind and body. However, even for camping you require certain gear / items that are almost essential to take along. If you miss even one of these items, there will be a great probability of the trip becoming a drag for you.

Why Make A List? :
If you simply pack the various gear and supplies in an arbitrary manner, you can never be sure of having included all the items. In fact, you will most likely leave out some of the things that are almost indispensable like things needed to make a campfire, personal hygiene products etc. The only foolproof way to obviate the possibility of leaving out any essential items is to prepare a list of items that you will most likely need, to go camping.

Dont Hesitate To Get Help:
If you do not have sufficient experience in camping, its wise to take guidance from experienced people. If you are unable to find such people in your friend circle or family circle, you can always take help from Internet. There are a good many sites where you will find detailed information on most aspects of camping. So it will be easy for you to work out the things needed. At least, make it a point to get a good book related to the subject before you finalize your list of take-along items.

What Constitutes The List?:
The items on top of your list to go camping should be tents and sleeping bags. You would need sufficient tents to accommodate your group or family members. For example an average tent accommodates two persons. So if your family comprises four members, you will need to have two tents. Since one sleeping bag accommodates one person, you will need to have one sleeping bag for each family member.

Next you should pack the clothing carefully. If it is summer time, you will mostly need light, airy clothing but remember to pack in a pair of warm clothes, a pullover, or jacket for the nighttime. Obviously, you would need warm clothing for camping in winters. Get the kind of clothing that can keep you sufficiently warm at the minimum temperatures of the area you plan to camp at. Thermal underwear, socks, and gloves will be required to protect you from frostbite.

You need to pack pots and pans that can be used for cooking over a campfire. Of course, plates and spoons will also be required. Apart from this, you would need to pack in raw material for the meals or freeze-dried food. Make sure you take along sufficient food that lasts the duration of your trip. In case, the camping site does not provide drinking water, include that in the list too.

Last but not the least comes the personal hygiene products and first aid kit. After having prepared the list of items for camping, strike off the items in the list as you load them into your automobile before you leave. This would minimize the possibility of any item being left out.
