World Peace
A lot of people like to toast to world peace but they might as well toast to whirled peas if that's all they are going to do.  World peace won't just happen. World peace must be worked for not just toasted to once in a while, if world peace is to ever be achieved. Maybe world peace is not an achievable goal.  Maybe world peace is just too big andf vague a concept.  Maybe the whole idea of world peace just lets people off the hook.
World peace is so huge.  World peace is so complex.  World peace is so unachievable that people can just say, oh well, I'd like world peace but what can I do?  So maybe we should stop talking about world peace  Maybe world peace can only be achieved through smaller steps.  World peace might only be achieveable if  we  have peace in our hearts and souls.
World peace sounds so good.  World peace sounds so noble.  Who could be against world peace?  Well, who would admit they were against world peace? No. those who do not want world peace would not come out and admit it.  But there are many governments who do not want world peace.  There are many corporations who do not want world peace.  There are many greedy, angry people who do not want world peace.  But they will  never admit it.  No.  They will all say they are for world peace.  But will they truly work for world peace?  No.  Are they willing to make the sacrifices necessary to achieve world peace?  No.  Will they profit from world peace? No.  At least they don't think so.  And as long as they have something to lose they will not let world peace happen.
The big powerful countries got that way through violence and oppression.  The big countries are the biggest exporters of arms in the world.  Do you think they want world peace?  The corporations that run these countries behind the scenes do  not want world peace.  They are making billions from a violent world.  The goverments and the people of the countries where these corporations thrive are complicit in their acts of violence and in their destroying of world peace.  The privileges that the money from the military industrial complex buys are not something people want to give up.  World peace takes a back seat to their desire for the good life  World peace runs way behind their desire for more, more, more.  So world peace is still just a concept whose time has not yet come.
