Senior Travel

Senior travel has in some ways advantages over travel for younger persons. Seniors who have the means to travel can often choose times without regard to jobs or seasons, and thus senior travel has broader possibilities.  Senior travel, of course, will include the same kinds of transportation and many of the same destinations as travel for younger persons. And when the so-called " senior" is in his or her mid-fifties or sixties, there is often no limitation to the destinations and acticvities which are included in senior travel.

Because senior citizens who are retired can take advantage of seasonal fluctuations in costs of transportation, hotel rates, etc. senior travel can often be less expensive than travel in general, aimed at vacation times and specific seasons.  In planning senior travel, persons can take advantage of shifts in airline and hotel prices on the edge of prime seasons and reap financial rewards. In some cases, transportation facilities may recognize seniors with a small discount, thus enabling  traveling seniors to realize more advantages in senior travel.

In terms of senior travel, some seniors prefer ocean cruises to other forms of vacations, as such cruises offer very pleasant experiences in senior travel without the  stress and strain of moving from spot to spot by plane, bus or car and locating  hotel rooms or resort accommodations.  Some cruise ships particularly court senior travelers, offering special services and entertainment appealing to older travelers.

In some cases senior travel can include very low all-inclusive rates to resorts or to foreign countries, combining air fare with hotel accommodations, leaving only meals and spending money to manage during senior travel.  These special offers for senior travel are usually slightly off-season, but an offer an excellent bargain and good vacation in terms of senior  travel.

For the active and adventurous senior, senior travel can offer a wide range of possibilities. Some seniors may enjoy visiting ancient sites...for them a cruise in the Greek islands would be a fine choice for senior travel. For seniors interested in European history and great museums, a self-managed tour through middle Europe can be an exciting possibility for senior travel. For magnificent scenery and a touch of American history, senior travel might include an auto trip across the US...or a series of trips in specific regions of the country.  In any event, there are infinite possibilities in terms of senior travel...something for every interest and every budget.
